Detrimental climate impact from meat industry

The 20 biggest European meat- and dairy companies are responsible for more emissions than the Netherlands or Denmark. 17 percent of all emissions in Europe come from the livestock industry. Individuals can of course make an important contribution by reducing or eliminate their consumtion of animal products, but with political action we can reduce the emissions even quicker.

It is about time that we get concrete political measures to target the detrimental environmental and climate impact from the livestock industry. In Sweden we in the Left Party have put forward a proposal for a national action plan for reduced meat consumtion and support for plant based food. What kind of simlilar action has been taken in other European countries?
