Idag och imorgon är Colombias vice-president, Francisco Santos Calderon, i Stockholm. UD påstår att syftet är att diskutera mänskliga rättgheter, men inte ett enda besök hos någon människorättsorganisation är inbokat, inte en enda fackförening får träffa Santos. Däremot ska en massa företag träffa honom. Även näringsminister Maud Olofsson (c) ska träffa Santos. Det är ett utmärkt tillfälle att lyfta upp människorättsfrågorna, exempelvis det faktum att Colombia är världens farligaste land för fackliga aktivister.

Investera inte i krigets Colombia
På tisdag kommer du, Maud Olofsson, att träffa Colombias vicepresident Francisco Santos. Just nu befinner sig Santos i Sverige för att diskutera handel och investeringar. Vi uppmanar dig och svenska företag att för närvarande avstå från att investera i Colombia.
Vi är djupt oroade över att människorättssituationen i Colombia inte kommer att diskuteras under Santos besök. I Colombia pågår en av de värsta humanitära katastroferna i världen. Tiotusental colombianer har dödats under de senaste decenniernas inbördeskrig och omkring fyra miljoner colombianer har fördrivits från sina hem och lever som flyktingar i sitt eget land.
Samtidigt genomgår den colombianska statsmakten sin värsta kris på många år. Mängder med regeringstrogna politiker anklagas för att ha samarbetat med och stött högerextrema paramilitärer. Utredning mot samanlagt 95 kongressledamöter pågår och listan växer ständigt. Vicepresident Santos själv har också pekats ut för att ha träffat och stött paramilitärerna.
Flera multinationella företag har anklagats för att stödja paramilitära grupper. Bananjätten Chiquita dömdes i mars 2007 att böta 25 miljoner dollar. Vi vill därför varna det svenska näringslivet för att stödja all form av ekonomisk verksamhet som kan vara kopplade till paramilitärernas krigsförbrytelser och olovliga verksamhet i Colombia.
I USA har demokraterna i kongressen satt käppar i hjulen på det frihandelsavtal som George W Bush och Colombias president Alvaro Uribe försökt genomdriva. Demokraterna, med Hillary Clinton och Barack Obama i spetsen, är framförallt kritiska till människorättssituationen i Colombia och förföljelserna av fackligt aktiva i landet.
Vi uppmanar därför dig, Maud Olofsson, att ta upp människorättssituationen i Colombia vid ditt möte med Santos. Det är hög tid att även svenska politiker och investerare får upp ögonen för situationen i Colombia.
