Just nu debatterar Danmarks utrikesminister, Per Stig Möller, EUs konstitution med danska riksdagen. Man diskuterar vilken den danska linjen ska vara inför EUs regeringskonferens som ska starta den 23 juli. Regeringskonferensen ska arbeta vidare på det s k mandatet och ta fram en EU-konstitution, en grundlag för EU. Mina vänsterkolleger i Enhedslistan kommer ta upp flera krav på saker som Danmark borde driva, bl a flyttvansinnet till Strasbourg en gång i månaden. Det är bra.
Men hur ser det ut här hemma i Sverige? Jo, den borgerliga regeringen försöker dölja hela frågan om den viktiga regeringskonferensen genom att inte låta svenska riksdagen debattera med någon minister från regeringen. Istället har man klämt inte frågan om regeringskonferensen under punkten ”Övriga frågor” på EU-nämndens möte den 20 juli. INGEN minister kommer vara på mötet, endast två sekreterare från regeringen. Detta fick jag igår bekräftat från EU-nämndens kanslichef.
Den svenska regeringen säger att man inte vill driva något särskilt inför regeringskonferensen. Man väljer hellre att lägga sig platt för de stora EU-länderna. Hur var det nu igen? Var det inte vår nuvarande EU-minister, Cecilia Malmström, som för mindre än ett år sedan drev kampanj som EU-parlamentet för att flyttcirkusen till Strasbourg skulle upphöra? Hennes parti, folkpartiet, gick till val på en aktiv EU-politik där folket skulle involveras. Nu som minister, och med möjlighet att påverka (det är inte EU-parlamentet som äger frågan), tänker hon inte ens ta upp frågan på regeringskonferensen.
Jag ska se vad vi i vänsterpartiet kan göra för att se till att vi åtminstone får en debatt med Malmström eller någon annan i EU-nämnden. Då kan man åtminstone få en debatt om den superstat som EU-konstitutionen kommer leda till. Allt annat vore faktiskt en skandal.
